Permalloy machined magnetic shields are magnetic shielding structural parts manufactured from high-permeability Permalloy bars, plates, or forgings through CNC milling, turning, precision wire cutting, and other material-removal processes. They are specifically designed for precision inertial devices such as gyroscopes that demand extremely high magnetic shielding performance and structural accuracy. Our products are available in two material series: 80% Nickel (typical grades 1J79/1J85) and 48~50% Nickel (typical grades 1J50), with custom machining available upon request. They are suitable for magnetic shielding cavities, support frames, and sensitive component shielding structures in fiber optic gyroscopes, atomic gyroscopes, and other inertial navigation systems.

 

KEY FEATURES:

Machining processes preserve the material‘s grain structure and permeability characteristics; after stress-relief aging treatment, stable high initial permeability is maintained under complex mechanical loads;

High initial permeability, providing a low-magnetic-noise “magnetic quiet” environment for sensitive components such as fiber optic coils, atomic vapor cells, and magnetic sensors inside gyroscopes;

Low coercivity and low hysteresis loss, offering sensitive response to weak magnetic fields and effectively suppressing measurement errors caused by external stray magnetic fields;

Near-zero magnetostriction for high-nickel material, ensuring minimal dimensional change during magnetization and stable long-term gyroscope accuracy;

High rigidity and high flatness, capable of serving as a structural base with integrated magnetic shielding function, directly carrying internal precision components for combined shielding and structural support;

Hydrogen annealing eliminates machining stresses and restores optimum magnetic properties, ensuring stable and reliable shielding effectiveness;

High dimensional accuracy with custom complex three-dimensional structures available upon request, meeting precision assembly requirements.
