Product introduction

Permalloy cut cores are open-type magnetic cores manufactured by winding Permalloy strips, annealing, and then cutting the toroidal cores into split configurations. Featuring high magnetic permeability, low coercivity, and low core loss, they offer the advantage of an open structure that facilitates coil winding and assembly, making them ideal core solutions for precision transformers, instrument transformers, chokes, and various electromagnetic devices. Our Permalloy cut cores are available in two material series: 80% Nickel (typical grades 1J79/1J85) and 48~50% Nickel (typical grades 1J50), offered in full-cut, half-cut, and pair-cut (split-core) configurations. Custom sizes, materials, and cutting methods are available upon request.

Pair-Cut

(Split   Core)

The core is symmetrically cut into two   halves along the circumference, forming two air gaps

Ideal for direct insertion of pre-formed   coils or large-current windings; dual air gaps allow gap length adjustment   for performance optimization

Full-Cut

A single cut creates an opening in the   core while maintaining a closed overall structure

Convenient assembly with coils inserted   directly through the opening, suitable for small to medium devices and   high-volume production

Half-Cut

Partial cut without complete separation,   maintaining a nearly continuous magnetic circuit

Minimal impact on magnetic performance,   suitable for high-precision instrumentation applications

 

KEY FEATURES:

High initial permeability, effectively improving device sensitivity and signal transmission efficiency while reducing coil turns;

Low coercivity and low hysteresis loss, significantly reducing core loss and improving overall device efficiency;

Open structure design allows coils to be directly inserted or snapped in place without pre-winding, significantly simplifying assembly and improving production efficiency;

Annealing and precision grinding after cutting ensure smooth, flat cut surfaces, eliminating processing stresses and ensuring stable, reliable magnetic performance;

Air gaps can be adjusted as needed to modify magnetic circuit reluctance, accommodating different inductance requirements and anti-saturation capabilities;

Wide range of specifications, with custom sizes, strip thicknesses, and cutting methods available upon request.
